The Service Workers in Group Foundation (SWING, Thailand) proudly participated in the 6th Annual Arthanareeswara Awards Ceremony, held at the Ministry of Justice in Conference Room 10-09 on the 10th floor. The event was organized by the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand (RSAT), in collaboration with the Rights and Liberties Protection Department of the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Womens Affairs and Family Development under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand.

This year, The SWING Foundation was deeply honored to witness our Executive Director, Khun. Surang Janyam, receive the Arthanareeswara Award for her outstanding contributions in the category of "Empowering and Strengthening LGBTQIA+ Communities Individual Achievement." The recognition celebrates her unwavering dedication to advocating for and supporting the diverse community of service workers.

In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Khun. Surang reflected:
"Looking back 20 years, deciding to undertake this work was not an easy choice. As a woman entering and working within diverse communities, I faced significant challenges and lack of knowledge. Yet, one unifying truth remainsregardless of gender, we all share our humanity. I am profoundly grateful to my colleagues and the community for opening their hearts and welcoming me into this important work."

The Arthanareeswara Awards are a national and international celebration of gender diversity, honoring individuals, organizations, and institutions that dedicate themselves to promoting health, well-being, and human rights for LGBTQIA+ communities.

In today’s political landscape, where hostility increasingly replaces policy-based debate, personal attacks have become alarmingly normalized—particularly when the target is a woman in politics. Female politicians are often subjected to more complex and deeply personal forms of harassment, ranging from derogatory labels such as “scoi” to the use of AI-generated pornographic content aimed at destroying their credibility. The recent conflict between Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arnond Sakworawich and MP Rukchanok Srinok has thus become a powerful case study. This incident is not merely an online drama; it exposes deep structural fractures within Thai society—particularly around class, political strategy, and human dignity.
